Questions people ask before a clean
How much does cleaning after construction cost?
The price is quoted from the property. Floor area, how many kitchens and bathrooms, how heavy the plaster dust is, paint spots, and whether a sparkle is needed later all move the figure. Send the quote form or a WhatsApp message with the postcode and a short description. There is no flat rate on this site.
Can I clean builder dust myself?
A small bathroom, yes, if you vacuum the fine dust before you wipe and you are not in a hurry. A whole house of plaster dust usually defeats a household vacuum and gets walked through every room. If the dust is already on the stairs and in the kitchen, a professional visit is the practical choice.
What is the difference between a full clean and a sparkle?
The full after-construction clean takes the heavy film and debris once the trades finish. A sparkle and handover clean is a lighter pass after that, often because a snagger came back. Booking the sparkle first on a white, dusty site wastes the visit.
When is plaster too wet to clean?
When it is still dark with moisture or the plasterer has said it must be left. Cleaning wet plaster marks the wall. Wait until it can be touched, then vacuum before any wipe.
Do you remove rubble and hire skips?
No. Small baggable rubbish can leave with the clean. Soil, plasterboard stacks and skip waste need a waste carrier. Say which you have so the quote is for cleaning only.
Do you handle asbestos or hazardous waste?
No. Sharp offcuts and ordinary construction dust are part of the clean. Asbestos, chemical waste and anything that needs a licensed carrier are not. Tell us what is on site before the day is booked.
Is this an end-of-tenancy clean?
No. End-of-tenancy work is lived-in wear, everyday limescale and inventory photos after occupation. A post-construction clean is for construction dust and fit-out marks. Tell us which one you need.
How long does the clean last?
It holds if nobody sands or cuts afterwards. Dust in the air can settle overnight, so a quick vacuum the next morning is normal. A new heavy film means more building work, not a failed clean.
Can I stay in the house?
Yes, if you book an occupied-home clean and keep children and pets out of the room being cleaned. An empty property is quicker. Say which one you need on the form.
